The Center for Language Science announces the recipients of the first annual Adele Miccio Memorial Travel Award, Gerard (Trace) Poll and Roxana Botezatu, doctoral candidates in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The award was created to honor the memory of Adele Miccio, Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders and Linguistics, to enable CLS graduate students to enhance their research by visiting senior scholars in their field. Roxana will visit Rebecca Treiman and David Balota at Washington University in St. Louis to further her research on reading skills in bilingual children and adults. Trace will visit Bruce Tomblin and Amanda Owen at the University of Iowa to advance his work on specific language impairment in children and young adults.
