Biography:

Hello! Buenos días, bom dia, and bonjour. I am an MA student in the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at Penn State, seeking a concentration in Hispanic linguistics. My interests deal primarily with bilingualism and second language acquisition. I research bilingual phonetics and phonological processes, and how phonetic systems compete in bilinguals and within contact populations. I also examine the role of executive functions in language learning and use.

Ongoing projects include quantitative analyses of vowel and obstruent systems in Spanish-English bilinguals, online processing theories, morphological processing, sign language phonology, research in language contact, and devoicing and elision in Romance languages.

In my spare time, I enjoy creative endeavors such as drawing, painting, and photography. I also enjoy traveling, spending time in nature, hiking, and practicing yoga.
