Biography:

Hello! Buenos días and bonjour. I am currently an MA/PhD student in the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at Penn State, seeking a concentration in Spanish with a Hispanic linguistics emphasis. My research interests deal primarily with bilingualism and second language acquisition. I examine bilingual phonetics and phonological processes, and how phonetic systems compete in bilinguals and within contact populations. I also examine the role of executive functions in language learning and use, output processing theories, and the importance of errors at lexical and morphosyntactic levels.

Ongoing research includes quantitative analysis of vowel and obstruent systems in Spanish-English bilinguals, online processing, and beginning research in devoicing and elision.

In my spare time, I enjoy creative endeavors such as drawing, painting, and photography. I also enjoy traveling, spending time in nature, hiking, and practicing yoga.
